S1 Music
In S1 pupils are provided with the opportunity to enjoy a taster on a variety of different instruments.
Pupils will also develop their music theory knowldge and develop their listening skills through the intsurments of the orchestra unit.

S2 Music
In S2 pupils choose two instruments to focus on, further developing the skills they learned on each instrument in S1.
Pupils also learn about musical concepts featured in pieces of music such as 'Sweet Child of Mine' by Guns 'n' Roses and 'She's Electric' by Oasis.
S3 Music
In S3 pupils continue to specialise on their two chosen instruments and begin to build up a repertoire of music from different styles and genres.
Pupils will also learn about traditional Scottish music, popular music styles and music from around the world.
In S3, it is vital that music pupils immerse themselves in different musical genres at home. This could involve listening to music on YouTube or a variety of radio stations. A helpful website that we encourage pupils to visit is My Music Online (linked below).
