The Department offers a variety of exciting and enterprising courses including Accounting, Admin and IT and Business Management. It plays a major role of the delivery of Information Technology to S1/2.
The Department provides a stimulating learning experience for all pupils who thrive on being taught by a range of teaching methodologies, ICT and high quality resources.

Administration & IT
The department offers Admin and IT at National 3 to Higher Level.
Administration and IT skills cut across all sectors of the economy and offer wide-ranging employment opportunities. These courses provide students with experience of authentic administration tasks and engaging practical activities relevant to the word of work. It encourages students to organise their work effectively, be aware of current legislation and the importance of customer care. Students will develop digital literacy skills allowing them to process, manage and communicate information using spreadsheets, databases, word processing, desktop publishing and presentation software.
Accounts
Accouting is the "systematic recording, reporting, and analysis of financial transactions of a business". Accounting allows for students to gain an understanding of how business manage their finances, anticipate any losses and look for opportunities to invest. Accounting uses students knowledge from Mathematics in a pratical and business environment which helps them develop their understanding into how business operate and exist.
The department offers accounting at two different levels:
Business Management
We all rely on businesses to create wealth, prosperity, jobs and choices. Studying Business Management gives you the opportunity to develop important skills such as problem solving, communication, planning and organising. You will learn through real-life business contexts how organisations operate.
These skills are valuable in a wide range of career sectors but are particularly useful if you are interested in entering the world of business - whether as a manager, employee or self-employed person.
