Community Learning and Development
(Photo is Gail and Mrs Lee at this year's Dance Off!)
Gail Johnston, (CLD) Worker, is based in Denny High School on a Monday and Tuesday
In partnership with Community Learning and Development, targeted young people and families have participated in the following programmes this year:
• Habits of Happiness wellbeing programme
• LIAM (Let’s Introduce Anxiety Management) Programme
• Girls Groups
• Adult wellbeing programme
• Employability Programmes
• Outdoor Bushcraft Sessions
• Teen Drive Experience at Knockhill
Pupils and families benefit from a bespoke curriculum which is targeted to their specific areas for development and is also based on data from wellbeing and destinations in school to ensure CLD interventions align with the School Improvement Plan.
They have opportunities to learn in school and the wider community. They have access to a wide variety of accreditation from the Prince’s Trust Achieve Programme to Youth Achievement Awards.
I know what I want to do but I don't have the qualifications or entry requirements to get in.
There is ALWAYS a way to get where you want to go. NEVER feel you have missed the boat because you don't have the right qualifications. You can use an ACCESS COURSE like an NQ or an Access To…course which will not need any qualifications but will need an interview. Once you pass that then you can do an NC course and then you can make it all the way to the career you want. You could even aim at a Degree or find a Graduate Apprenticeship so you can work and train at the same time and still end up where you wanted to be. Just email Mrs Lee for help or check out #nowrongpath #YoungPersonsGuarantee for more advice.
