Info from LANTRA website

The #NoWrongPath social media campaign aims to show just how many alternative routes there can be to dream careers.

And as our director Liz explores in her blog, while there may not actually be a wrong path, there is a right destination for everyone.

If you know someone looking for extra help on deciding what to do next now that they have their SQA results, here are some pointers:

SDS careers advisers are on 0808 100 8000; Lantra's website tells you about careers in our sectorthe UCAS Hub has details of higher education course vacancies and both Scotland’s Rural College and UHI have open days coming up.

For those feeling a bit anxious about their next steps, it often helps to talk to friends, family or teaching staff.

Here is some information on setting up a light/heavy vehicle maintenance Modern Apprenticeship.

LAGTA will set up an apprenticeship for you and organise all the training and the paperwork and assessment.

You call Jeannette Aitchison, Business Development Manager for Bosch LAGTA at Eurocentral and she takes you through everything.

If you pick a candidate and call Jeannette she will let them settle in with you for a couple of weeks, to make sure everything works out, then she comes out, fills in the paperwork and gets the candidate started on their training.

Everything is done online for the first year and for yr 2&3 you go in to LAGTA for training.

The assessor pops out to the garage every 10-12 weeks to check their onsite learning and at the end they will get a SVQ Level 3 qualification from IMI.

You can start the apprenticeship in any month as it is a rolling programme.

Jeannette’s number 07968241280,  01698835431
